Oh, goody! Today I get to go back to sleep for a bit. Not before I learn that @marcosarroyos cleaned up yesterda’s artwiculate with, “Woohoo! I convinced my auto-correct that bowlderize is correct Ha, ha, take that mother farmer!” I don’t think I quite understand, but George thought it good.

While I’m away they’ll all be sitting at their computers and telephones and pads and things trying to do something clever with “Macular”. Eye’ve no idea what they might come up with.

It’s been fun here. I’m looking forward to a long sleep now as I’ve been told that Dr Opbear—who I’m going to see next—is away for a bit.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……….

@mazpow won Artwiculate this morning with, “Brandiloquent: nothing more to ad”. Very clever.

Today’s word is Bowlderize. Even I can spell better than that.

As well as frogs and toads, @Cormanus also has occasional visits from an antechinus, a native Australian rat-like creature. It’s apparently a most agreeable creature, but raids the pantry during the night and makes a mess. Sounds like fun. I’d like to meet him. George sets a trap for it and then takes it away from the house and releases it into the bush.

I know that now. He didn’t tell me at the time. I was prowling around early in the morning, feeling a mite peckish and spied a bit of carrot. I went after it. Imagine my surprise when the door banged behind me and I was in an altogether different type of travelling box. Didn’t smell nearly so nice as mine!

Today we went to Noosa, one of Australia’s premier tourist resorts. It has a rare (for Queensland) north facing beach which gives it shelter from the prevailing easterly winds. Its temperate climate makes it a pleasant destination all year round, and the slight shelter means the water isn’t too rough.

@Cormanus took me on his motorcycle. I sat happily at the front and enjoyed the wind and the view of the Australian bush.

On the headland protecting Noosa is a national park where people go to walk, surf and swim. One can also see the ubiquitous brush turkeys.

And I did. Pity my hand shook as I took the photo.

They also go to the national park to see koala bears which are occasionally to be found in their natural habitat. @Cormanus told me you seldom see them, but we struck it lucky and found one doing what they do best: sitting in a tree, sleeping.

I tried to wake it up so it would come down and talk to me, but it wouldn’t stir. I wasn’t going up to talk to it, even though George tried to get me to so that he could take a photo of two truly remarkable bears.

Then it was off to Noosa’s famous beach. I’m not too keen on water, but I was happy to prop against a rock and watch the humans disporting themselves on the beach and in the water.

If you look very, very carefully, you can see me in the left of the picture. I’m such a handsome bear!

On the way home, we climbed a mountain—it was called Tinbeerwah—actually, I was feeling weary so I made George carry me.

In this photo, I can be seen looking out over Noosa.

I was reluctant to include the photo below because it is such a poor shot of me, but it does show the hill that dominates the landscape just behind @Cormanus’ house.

Every year there’s a race to the top. People run from the middle of the town to the top and back down again. It’s nearly 400 metres tall and very, very steep They do it in just over 20 minutes.

When we got home, I was keen to inspect the bananas. They are very high up and @Cormanus had to help me up. It wasn’t me who ate them—the bite was there when I arrived. It’s amazing how they grow.

Then it was time to talk to the other animals. I formed an excellent relationship with Oink the pig, although I was not able to persuade him to seek help for an obvious case of jaundice. Maybe he’d been into the bananas?

The duck was suitably respectful. Indeed this is how I’ll remember the animals—hanging off my every word. I’m such a fascinating bear.

The word of the day is Brandiloquent.

Yesterdays was Wachancy and Kevin won with, Wachancy: Today's random word resulting from #Artwiculate playing #lostconsonants. N of that I am certain.

I don’t know why I write down the word of the day It seems programmed into me. I might have to get some help for it. I’d rather be out meeting the local wildlife.

I sat beside the pond and waited in the hope of meeting an Australian Green Tree Frog.

@Cormanus told me I’d be more likely to meet a cane toad—an ugly beast imported to deal with some pest or other. It failed and is now spreading like wild fire all over Australia.

Because this diary will soon be famous and everywhere, I have to be careful not to breach copyright with stuff I put in it. So, here’s a link to a photoof a cane toad.

Ugly critter, isn’t it? They’re poisonous and kill pretty much anything that eats them.

There’s also a great movieabout them.

The frog in the picture above is much nicer.

Enough about cane toads. I enjoyed sitting by the pond. There’s something very soothing about fountains.

Our plans to tour the local environment were thwarted by unseasonal rain.

I know it’s May day because the humans tell me. They always do. They think I’m interested. Just like they think I’m pleased to be woken from hibernating in my lovely travelling box.

I’ve just had a couple of very pleasant days asleep while in transit from Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, where I stayed with Tracy. For some reason she also calls herself @Squawkingalah.

This other name has to do with some funny thing called Twitter. All the people I visit seem to do it. I thought it was only birds that twittered. Apparently not; humans seem to like it too. To be fair, though, the human twittering is not just blether about worms and stuff. It seems to have a purpose: they twitter away about words. That’s a #swappedconsonants joke. Some of them are pretty damned clever too. I like it that they share them with me from time to time.

I’ve come to stay with George. He’s a Twit better known as @Cormanus. He lives in a place called Pomona in Queensland, Australia. If anyone gives a damn, that’s 1,000 kilometres or so from where Tracy put me in the box. George has an eccentric house, but he seems ok. His partner is wonderful. They don’t have any young children, which is good and bad. They’re exhausting but they do give me nice things to eat. George gave me acceptable wine to drink and a fine single malt lter in the evening.

He tells me the word of the day for yesterday was daspygal, which means ‘having hairy buttocks’. So I’m daspygal who is lifted from my comfy travelling box to keep an eye on the Twitterati and report to God knows who. Well, I thought it was funny.

And the Artwiculate winner was @steveandhens (who along with some other Sydney Twitterarti) took me to Bathurst. He wrote, “I'm really happy with the sides, and that's a great length for my fringe. Could you just take a little more off the bottom? #dasypygal”. I like that.

We had a quiet evening and talked over what we might do while I was staying. George said he had just been told he had to go away to do some work (he didn’t like the idea of work) and apologised that the visit would be briefer than he’d hoped.

I was very polite. I didn’t tell him I was perfectly happy hibernating.

Help! How to index a missing tweet on a phone app

Indexing missing tweets on a mobile Twitter app is a bit clumsy,
but HERE are a few 'easy' steps that work for me.
All apps have their own quirks. Tweetdeck and Teewee use 'email tweet'.
Seesmic uses 'Share by E-mail', etc.
Twitter itself is the least complicated with 'Copy link to tweet', but in the end they all work.

Wanda's travels continue.
She made it all way from hanging out with John and Björn in Sweden high up North to the Land Doiwn Under.
Once in Australia Marianne (@mazpow) manages to get Wanda an acting career. And bird seeds to eat.
In her first role Wanda convincingly plays a lonely bear called Ellie who falls in the river.
Then, when she has crawled out to safety, sitting on a rock, she hears a voice: "Hello Ellie..!"
